I am an geo-Scientist specializing in geohazard assessment, disaster risk reduction, and climate adaptation, with 20+ years of experience in academia, research, and field projects. I focus on science-based solutions to mitigate disasters and enhance community resilience.
About Me
I am an Assistant Professor at Tribhuvan University and Director of the Centre for Disaster Studies, with over 20 years of experience in disaster risk management. I hold a PhD in Earth Science from the University of Vienna and a Master’s in Geology from Tribhuvan University. My work bridges academic research and practical solutions for geohazards, using GIS, remote sensing, and multi-hazard modeling. I specialize in climate change impacts, landslide early warning systems, and multi-hazard risk assessments.
I am also a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne and visiting professor at Sichuan University (China) and Keio University (Japan). I’ve led projects with the World Bank, USAID, and ICIMOD, and authored over 60 scientific publications. My contributions have been recognized with the IRDR Young Scientist Award, TWAS Young Affiliate, and the Sichuan 1000 Talents Award.
